This China Puerh Bulang 2013 raw loose leaf tea comes from Bulang mountain in the southeast of Menghai County, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan Province.
Bulang Mountain is a famous puerh tea production area with a history of more than 4,000 years of tea cultivation. Bulang Mountain has plenty of sunshine and abundant rainfall, with an average altitude of 1400 metres, which is very suitable for the growth of tea trees.
Bulang puerh tea is a large leafy arbour species. The liquor colour is orange-yellow and translucent.
It has a strong taste, quick response, strong rejuvenation, and unique aroma. Bulang Mountain’s late conversion effect is better, and the taste is better after years of storage.

Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
6-8gms of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 10-15 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 15-20 seconds
Infusions 7+: 20 – 30 seconds

‘China Bulang Raw Puerh 2013’ from Elton Powell, Tea For You, is a loose sheng pu erh of some age already, with wonderful perfect long loose leaves. I don’t even need a pitcher, there are no small pieces or dust. The taste is clean, fruity, strong, and the tea is quick to release its deep good qi energy… warming and filling, just the right tea for autumn. 🍁 Definitely recommended!
