What is China Black tea? Chinese black or Hong (meaning red in China) tea has many varieties within this category. The more renowned black teas are those such as Keemun, Lapsang Souchong, and Dian Hong (Yunnan Golden Tip).
These teas have been fully oxidised when processed and therefore the leaves have been turned reddish brown to black (some with gold tips).
Fine China black teas will not need milk added to them or sugar as there should be no bitterness. Taste characteristics include smokey, wild honey, and spice.
