Imperial Tea King Ripe puerh from 2005. To be honest, I'm not sure about this tea.The tea liquor is brilliant and very dark, and remains so throughout many infusions.The flavour profile is what makes me uncertain. There is a flavour note which is quite high and borders on bitterness, but never arrives. This may be what is known as the medicinal note. There is also a note (which I don't mind) of fallen tree trunk that has started to decay due to laying on the wet forest floor.I shall have to do some investigation into this medicinal flavour note. ...

I had in my head that I wanted to try one of the first shou puerh I had purchased about 10 years ago, just to see how it was doing.However, I got sidetracked when I came across this tea.Mr Chen's 1980s Ding Xing Hao from Puerh UK.It's a tea that you drink to remind you of what to search for in good tea.
