China Menghai Dragon Ball Raw Puerh 2010
£10.00
These China Menghai Dragon Ball Raw Puerh 2010 tea balls (Long Zhu) weigh approximately 8 grams each and are a very convenient way of carrying good puerh tea around and easily infusible.
These dragon balls are made from aged (2010 raw material) ancient tree raw puerh tea leaves, which have been processed in August 2019, into ball shaped tea.
When using these Long Zhu tea, you may wish to not drink the first infusion (unless you infuse for over 30 seconds), as the first infusion is quite insipid due to the tightness of the ball, which doesn’t let out much flavour.
The 1st infusion is very light and gives just a hint of what is to come. The 2nd infusion comes through with a hint of astringency which then turns sweet. Hints of green skinned, pink fleshed guava.
The liquor orange-red brown depending on infusion times.
Available in 50 gram pouches (approximately 7 balls)
Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
8gms (1 ball) of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 10-15 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 15-20 seconds
Infusions 7+: 20 seconds +
