China Bulang Raw Puerh tea sampler

£20.00

China Bulang Raw Puerh tea sampler:

Bulang Shan (mountain) is located in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna, Yunnan. It is a core puerh region with a long tradition of tea cultivation.
One of the oldest ethnic groups in Yunnan, the Bulang people are believed to be among the earliest tea cultivators in China, with their cultural heritage and knowledge tied deeply to Puerh.

Famous for its strong bitterness, and then lingering sweetness, Bulang raw puerh often hits hard first, then transforms into a smooth, sweet aftertaste. Compared to Yiwu (being soft, floral, and gentle) or Jingmai (being fruity and orchid like), Bulang is bold, strong, and can take your breath away, making it easily recognisable.

You will receive 25 grams (3 to 5 infusions) of:

A sample processed in 2020 and pressed in 2023 made from Bulang Mountain Big Tree
A sample pressed in April 2019 from Bulang Mountain
A sample pressed in April 2017 made from Bulang Mountain Wild Big Tree

Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
6-8gms of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 10-15 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 15-20 seconds
Infusions 7+: 20 seconds +
