China Yibang Raw Puerh 2015
Price range: £20.00 through £125.00
This China Yibang Raw Puerh 2015 offers a gentle bitterness and an elegant fresh taste, with a delicate, clear liquor colour.
Its fragrance is pronounced, combining fruity and floral notes, reminiscent of a cup of blended floral essence. The aroma is sweet and silky, with the tea liquor being smooth and soft, delivering a refined and balanced, lingering pleasant aftertaste.
Yibang, Xishuanbanna is located in the Northwest corner of Xishuanbanna, one of Yunnan’s ancient tea mountains, and ranks first among the Six Great ancient Tea Mountains. Of these six mountains, Yibang has the highest elevation. both large-leaf and medium-to-small-leaf tea trees grow here, producing the uniquely distinctive Yibang tea. The medium-to-small-leaf tea in this area not only surpasses the local large-leaf varieties in quality, but also exceeds the medium-to-small-leaf teas from other provinces.
I purchased this tea from just smelling the freshly opened cake. I didn’t even have to taste it to know it was good. The sweetness of the aroma got me!
Available in 50g pouch and 357g cake
Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
6-8gms of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 10-15 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 15-20 seconds
Infusions 7+: 20 – 30 seconds

Perfect balance of sweetness and the ‘sheng’ taste, it is still surprisingly light after 10y, and has a good light energy lingering on. Matching your beautiful pictures!
