China Bingdao Gushu Loose Leaf Raw Puerh 2023

This China Bingdao Gushu loose leaf raw puerh processed in 2023, has beautiful strong loose leaves from ancient trees over 100 years old. The leaves are large and covered in fuzzy down, giving them a whitish colour.

Flavour notes that come through for me are nutmeg or allspice, and maybe juniper or blueberries. There is also a slight minty coolness at the end in the mouth.

These leaves are very long and full and stick out of a gaiwan quite easily! They last 10 to 15 infusions quite well without losing flavour.

It will be interesting to see how these leaves mature over the coming years.

Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
4-6gms of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 10-15 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 15-20 seconds
Infusions 7+: 20 seconds +
