China Black Keemun Black Snail Tea
£12.50
This China black keemun black snail tea, a variant of Keemun tea (I have 3 on the website now) has the unmistakable notes of Keemun, but perhaps more refined with more wild honey notes and less of the smokiness hints.
Orignating from Qimen county, Huangshan city, Anhui, and grown at an elevation of 850 metres, this tea is pre Qing Ming harvested.
The China black tea leaves of this Keemun are shiny black, fine and very curly. Great craftsmanship.
The leaves can be infused many times and is favourable to Gongfu cha style infusion.
Available in 50 gram pouches
Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
5gms of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 20-30 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 30-60 seconds
Infusions 7+: 60 seconds +

One of my favourite blacks so far! Nice hint of sweet, nice body. Good quality leaves that open up full of flavor
