Another black tea from Qimen County of Huangshan city in Anhui Province. This China black keemun mao feng tea has been produced in a different style to the Hao Ya A fine leaf style.
The black tea leaves of this Keemun tea are long and twisted and needle like.
The infusion is a bright red-orange and the aroma is sweet with hints of fruitiness and wild honey. The distinctive keemun flavour is still there.
A great breakfast tea if you’re looking for an alternative to traditional English Breakfast or Indian Assam.

Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
5gms of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 20-30 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 30-60 seconds
Infusions 7+: 60 seconds +

A Keemun Maofang kept me company in this years autumn weather, when the leaves on the trees outside were glowing in orange colours, just as the tea in my cup. I wanted some more heavy and warming, so I chose this Keemun Mao Feng, which worked very well. Thin and long dry leaves, the taste sweet, fruity, elegant. āŗ
