China Green Lu An Gua Pian Tea
£9.75
Also known as Lu An Melon Seed tea, this China green Lu An Gua Pian tea (loose leaf) is one of the famous Chinese teas and comes from Jinzhai County, LuAn City in the Anhui Province. Emerald to dark green, the finely shaped loose tea leaves infuse to give a sweet vegetal aroma and flavour.
Best infused using glass teapot or porcelain gaiwan with water temperature around 80 to 85 degrees Celius, and for infusions starting at 30 seconds for the first.
From a tea garden elevation of 800m and processed from the Qun Ti Zhong cultivar, this green tea has a complicated process which means it is fully hand made.
Available in 50gm pouches.
Recommended Infusion instructions:
Near Boiling but not boiled water (90 degrees Celsius – crab to fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
5gms of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 2: 20-30 seconds
Infusions 3 to 4: 30-60 seconds
