China Huang Jin Gui Oolong Tea
£3.45
I have managed to find a lovely China Huang Jin Gui Oolong Tea (Yellow Gold) to add to the Chinese Oolong leaf tea category.
From Anxi in the Fujian province of China, this Huang Jin Gui loose leaf tea is named after the yellow golden colour of its budding leaves and its unique flowery aroma ā said to be reminiscent of the sweet Osmanthus.
Similar to Tie Guan Yin, this oolong has been slightly oxidised.
Available in 50gm pouches
Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
5-8gms of tea leaves to 100ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 10-15 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 15-20 seconds
Infusions 7+: 20 seconds +
