This China loose leaf oolong tea has been roasted many times but the tea master has the skill not to take the roasting too far and therefore the tea has not been burned.
The fruity, marrowy and full liquor is the result. The leaves can take many infusions without weakening in taste.
The flavour profile is reminiscent of dark chocolate, spice, tobacco, and rum soaked raisins.
Available in 50gm pouches
Recommended Infusion instructions:
Boiling but not boiled water (100 degrees Celsius – fish eyes bubble size, see Tea Making for more info)
5-8gms of tea leaves to 100ml gaiwan/clay teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusions 1 to 3: 10-15 seconds
Infusions 4 to 6: 15-20 seconds
Infusions 7+: 20 seconds +

I tried Tea For You’s ‘China TGY High Roast Oolong Spring 2018’, not 2005 though. Coffee notes from the dry leaves, honey from the liquor, the coffee, roast, good softness and strength at the same time. Going light with 20 sec, 25, 35. Fourth brew I forgot, maybe 70 sec. More orange of course. And good, very good.
