Japanese Green Sencha Gyokuro Asahi Tea

This Japanese Green Sencha Gyokuro Asahi tea has very fine needle like, dark green leaves.

During the last few weeks of the growing period before picking, the tea bushes are covered with shade cloth to slow the growth and heighten the nutrients and chlorophyll within the leaf, giving it its distinct colour.

The tea liquor has a bright green with yellow tinge to it, and the flavour is vegetal, slightly sweet, and very smooth.

Recommended Infusion instructions:
Heated water (60-65 degrees Celsius, see Tea Making for more info)
5gms of tea leaves to 150ml gaiwan/kyusu teapot
You can do a rinse but I don’t as I find with most teas, the first infusion is the most revealing.
Infusion 1: 30-45 seconds
Infusion 2: 60-90 seconds
Infusion 3: 90-120 seconds
